| ISLAND VIS
Island Vis is the most southern Croatia island,
surface area 90,3 km2, the highest peak is located on a 587
meters high mountain, Hum. On the island live approximately
5,000 residents in the two major cities of Vis and Komiza,
and in a number of smaller settlements in inland fields and
valleys. The island extends in a west-eastern direction, 17
km away from airport (Barjaci-Kampanel), while the length
is 8 km. The coastal area is 76,7 km long and is well-indented.
It is located 45 km from land, and from the island Hvar is
separted by the 8 km wide Vis canal.
RUKAVAC
Tranquil and picturesque, once a fishing village,
and now a real tourist location with many beaches and nearby
islands, of which the most well-know is Ravnik noted for the
Green Cave. Each of those islands have beautiful beaches which
are accessible by boat. It is located on the south-eastern
side of the island Vis, 10 kilometers from the ferry harbour.
There can also be discovered one of the most beautiful beaches
on the island- SREBRENA.
